Emerald Prairie’s main goal is to provide today’s horse people with horses that fit their specific needs.  We try to keep a range of stock on the farm.  Whether you like hot and *spicy* or cool and relaxed we have it or can find it.    Maybe your thing is dressage?  Show jumping, eventing, equitation or gymkhana?  You want it; we’ve got it!

We never push our horses.  We find waiting until they’re fully mature, both mentally and physically, prepares them to be an outstanding partner in the future.  We use the  old Indian saying to start the horses, “Wait until the tail reaches the fetlock.”   It seems to be true!  Some are ready to be started at two; others at four.  Before the formal training, “the babies” are handled daily.  The combination of imprinting at birth, being played with by kids, and being around other animals and vehicles makes for an extremely pleasant horse at your home.
